Maintenance and cleaning tips

Find the right strap for your watch

Seaqual: the game-changing material

We start with plastic waste collected at sea and on the coasts.

They are sorted and then transformed into Seaqual fiber . This then becomes a technical textile, which we use to make bracelets in France that are built to last, for everyday use as well as by the water.

We answer your questions

What is Seaqual?

Seaqual is a collective committed to the recovery and transformation of plastic waste collected from the oceans.

The collective subsidizes fishermen and associations who can collect plastics, then manages the recycling sector that transforms this waste into fiber.

The manufacturers, members of the collective, then use it in various materials (fabrics, solid plastic, etc.). Avel & Men uses Seaqual textile fabric to manufacture its creations.

What exactly does "water resistant" mean?

The Port Louis, Larmor Plage and Porspoder SNSM bracelets have a microfiber lining and seaqual canvas loops.

They are not waterproof; water may seep into the seams, but all the materials are water-resistant. You can therefore swim with these bracelets; we simply recommend rinsing them with fresh water after swimming.

Rain or other everyday splashes? No problem! If you stain your bracelet, visit our care/advice page.

What size should I choose for my bracelet: 18, 19, 20 or 22 mm?

Measure the width between the lugs of your watch (the space where the strap attaches). You'll usually see 18 mm, 19 mm, 20 mm, or 22 mm . If you're unsure, use our "Find My Size" guide: it'll help you determine your size in 30 seconds.

How to maintain it (especially after a trip at sea)?

After a swim or a boat trip:

  • rinse with fresh water
  • allow to air dry

Avoid harsh products and drying over a heat source (radiator, very strong direct sunlight).

And if I make a mistake (size, style): can I return my watch strap?

Yes. You can return your bracelet according to our returns/exchanges policy (delivery time and conditions are indicated on the “Shipping & Returns” page). If you have any doubts before ordering, please chat with us: we will help you confirm the size.
